Remember we’ve been telling you the guys from Dev Team have already managed to put their hands on the next iPhone firmware 2.0 and jailbreak it? Turns out their plans are far beyond our expectations, as the members of “The iPhone DevTeam” has demonstrated the “Pwnage Tool”, yesterday in Moscow. The Pwnage is a new application, allowing you to jailbreak, activate and unlock all current and future iphone firmwares and patch the stock bootloader so that it will allow any third party to modify the iphone and custom application installation, baseband modification, phone graphics etc. The application tool works automatically with OTB 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 iPhones and the process is very fast. Launch is set for today, currently for MacOS users. Check out the video after the break.

Encouraged by the huge Eee PC ultra-mini laptop success around the world, Asus wants to harness the momentum to its favor. The company has driveled some pieces of information about launching an Eee PC desktop version, somewhere in 2008, and the following picture, leaked only recently, might be the rumored prototype Asus was talking about. No official confirmation yet, but I do hope it is authentic because I really like the way it looks.

Sling Media, the company that turns any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or smartphone into a home television, wants a foothold in the iPhone application festival. The company has downloaded the SDK package (along with other 100,000 people) and started developing a designated Sling app. (hypothetically) which means, by the time Apple officially releases the new firmware version 2.0, around June, and launches the App store, you could watch TV virtually anywhere in the world threw the iPhone, and although EDGE streaming is pretty lousy, it can really work great via WiFi connection. Stay tuned !

Here’s a nice comparison, made by Korean website, presenting head to head table between 4 top mini media-players, including iPod Touch, Samsung P2, Mpio V10, and iriver W7. As you can see, the best screen belongs to the iPod Touch but the king of formats, between the four, is the Mpio V10.

Retro fans, this is your day, as Mr. Jake von Slatt introduces the “von Slatt Original” keyboard, made of brushed aluminum, polished brass, and antiqued copper. This old-style-like keyboard houses authentic Royal typewriters keys and triangular aluminum foot, to make the typing easy and comfortable. To get one of these, you have to place your special order and get your bespoke keyboard delivered. Obviously, prices are expropriated and you will have to throw $1000 away, for this baby, but i guess this is just a minor thing for antique junkies.

Although it may seems hard to play this shooter game with your fingers, tapping on the multi-touch screen, we like the idea and the intention of bringing 3D games to the iPhone or the iPod Touch. Counter Strike is just the beginning, yes it’s buggy, hard to control and barely playable, but I’m sure it will be improved with the next versions. The installation is a bit complicated for tech fogies, so just check out the following video. If you insist trying it, read the instructions after the break.

As mentioned before, the expectation for the new GTA IV, turns me into an impatient critter, and the following possible PS3 map images, leaked just few hours ago, only increase the intolerance. The pictures include the next Liberty City itself, descriptions of various scene locations, the subway map and more. All in all, I fairly can say these images resemble to New York City one after the other, and although there is no official authenticity confirmation, I’m surely convinced they are real and not just a mockup.

Remember the rumors about a touchscreen in the Eee PC? Turns out they were very accurate, as Kevin Lin, ASUS VP of Sales, says Asus will officially start selling the 8.9-inch model with a touchscreen, somewhere around June, for $500. The next Eee PC generation will also include 1GB of RAM, 8GB to 12GB SSD storage capacity and possibly, a GPS system. In addition, we here that the next version (aka Eee 900) might have a “multi-finger gesture input”, as the ultra mini laptop hits the FCC. This means it would include a trackpad, similar to the one in the MacBook Air, with zoom in, zoom out and two-finger scrolling capabilities. We can’t wait anymore…
