Sony Is Zigzagging When It Comes To Blotware Charging

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 @ 6:44 pm | Applications, Computers, General

I wasn’t sure how to call this thing other than big “Huzpa”. This is what happened: Friday morning, Sony has announced what they call “fresh start”, meaning the company offers buying Vaio TZ laptop models, clean from all the crappy-overloaded bloatware, you get when you buy one of their notebooks. So far so good, until Sony made it audaciously clear it will charge $50 to remove all the crapware. Do you get it? Sony impudently wanted to take money from buyers for the sake of delivering wiped-clean computers?!?!

To our satisfaction, Sony has immediately realized how senseless was their decision, and fixed things to our benefit by announcing the following:

“Starting March 22, Sony will offer Fresh Start free of charge. We want VAIO users to have the best experience possible with our PCs, and we believe Fresh Start will help ensure that happens right out-of-the-box.”
