MagicPad App Brings Copy & Paste To Your iPhone

Apple should officially put an end to the iPhone’s Copy & Paste saga (They’ve said they don;t care). Meanwhile, we get a chance to see the MagicPad app, a rich-text editor, coming up to App Store very soon, allowing users to write their personal notes, create text documents and change fonts, text sizes, colors, mark them as bold, italic, underline and of course, copy & paste them in order to send threw emails. It works really well and looks promising, so checkout the video after the break.

iPhone 3G: Windows PC Jailbreak Goes Live

Windows OS users, this is your day, as Pwnage 2.0 version for your PC (AKA: WinPwn 2.0) has been released, allowing iPhone 1st Gen, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch users to jailbreak their devices and unlock their sim cards if necessary. Although it was already available, for early adopters, only 24 hours after the official Dev-Team Mac release, this one is much easier, especially with the ability to make your jailbroken handset - Sim Free - in one click. Mind you, this is only a preliminary version and it might have some bugs, so stay cautious while updating your device.

iPhone 3G: Pwnage 2.0 Jailbreak Goes Live

After days of expectations, Dev Team has finally released a software-based jailbreak for firmware update 2.0, installed on iPhone 3G, iPhone 1st Gen and iPod Touch devices. Although it is only Mac users compatible, Dev Team has promised to release PC friendly version in the near future, along with iphone 3G full unlocking version [You can download the jailbreaking software from here or here or here]. The new Pwnage 2.0 jailbreak can do the following:

iPhone 3G - Only activate and jailbreak, no unlock yet (no sim free).

iPhone 1st Gen (With firmware 2.0 installe.d) -  activate, jailbreak and unlock.

iPod Touch (With firmware 2.0 installed) - activate and jailbreak.

Mind you, there are plenty of people trying to get this one so be patient as you download those 19.7MB. Full instractions can be found in here.

Update1: that was fast! Jailbreak 2.0, now available for Windows OS users. You can get full instructions in here or here.

Update2: 24 hours later and there’s a new update that fixes some of the bugs from the first version. You can get it in here or here.

iPhone and iPod Touch Firmware 2.0 Is Available For Download

iPhone and iPod Touch owners, this is your moment, as Apple has officially released the latest firmware 2.0 version, available for download via iTunes. Mind you, there’s a load on the servers and it might be slow, but if you’re determined to get one, in order to access the new App Store, i guess nothing will stop you from upgrading your devices. Don’t forget, ipod touch users have to pay $9.95 to get firmware 2.0 update.

Apple App Store:New Games For Your iPhone

As you probably know, Apple has launched its new App Store with over 500 applications for your iphone and ipod touch devices, some are free some are priced. We’ve already posted a preliminary list of cool applications to download and i guess you’d like to see some new available games, so here’s a quick look at some of them, just hit the jump for more:

Aqua Forest

Fantastic game that uses both touchscreen and accelerometer capabilities to play with realistic water via ‘OctaveEngine’, a new generation physics simulation software that controls the five categories, including Tilting, Touch, Drawing, Warm and Cold in 50 different puzzles (reminds “Physics”).

Apple App Store Goes Live

I bet you all been waiting for the official Apple App Store to make a debut and today it is finally available in both iPhone 2.0 and iTunes, running smooth, offering many applications to download, some are free some are priced. Among the assortment you can find applications like:

  • eBay - cool application that lets you use the service from your iPhone device, search items, watch favorite stuff, place a bid and follow auctions, all for free.
  • Loopt - a nice location-based application that lets you discover who’s hanging within your location range (don’t try to hide with this service ON).
  • TypePad - one of the most popular blogging services, now available from your iPhone, allowing users to upload real time photos, straight from their handset, directly to their blogs.
  • Associated Press - another free application, allowing users to upload their media stuff to AP service and contribute to the content.
  • Band - a cool feature, developed by an independent insurance developer, allowing users to create their own music and play it from their own iPhone device, with the ability to choose from a various of instruments.
  • MLB.com - a nice application, designated for baseball fans, allowing them to receive real time results and watch highlighted moments.
  • MySpace - iPhone app that allows you to manage their MySpace social network account, including add friends, exchange messages, upload photos,and more, all for free.
  • Kyte Mobile Producer - a great application that lets you upload images you take with your iphone, directly to your Kyte account or the available channels, including blogs, social networks (Facebook, MySpace) etc. You can make slides, conduct polls and add captions.
  • AIM - Finally an instant-messaging application on your iphone, lets you interact with your friends and chat online via Wi-Fi. In additio, you can mark contacts as your favorites and can even send away messages.
  • Twitterrific - The official twitter client to send your messages via twitter.
  • Facebook - Manage your Facebook account from your iphone device. The application lets you view messages, search friends and even chat with them whenever you want.
  • Pandora - The cool online radio service comes to your iphone, allowing you to play your favorite music while recommending similar bands and artists.
  • Remote Control - Lets you control your iTunes or your Apple TV with your iphone device. You can play, pause, skip, and even search in libraries.

iTunes 7.7 Goes Live With Apple App Store And Remote Control Support

itunes-7-7So, it is finally here. iTunes version 7.7 goes live with the promised App store assimilated inside, and Remote control functionality as a bonus. The official release says:

“Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home - a free download from the App Store.”

The new Remote application for the iPhone and iPod touch devices controls your Apple TV and iTunes via the Wi-Fi connection. You can literally use it to play, stop, pause, skip or shuffle your songs and videos, you can even search the entire libraries threw your handheld device.

If you’re a proud owner of a jailbroken iphone device and want to take your favorite radio stations everywhere you go, uSirius will make it possible, free of charge for three days before registration. To start streaming, just find yourself a Wifi hotspot, log into the Installer.app, download the application, install it and get your tunes on the go.

iSlsk Lets You Download Your Favorite Music To Your iPhone Or iPod Touch Devices

iphone-islsk iSlsk is a Soulseek P2P client that enables jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch owners to download MP3 songs directly from their own devices. To do so, just connect to the Soulseek network with the iSlsk application and start importing your favorite music via your wifi connection. The application lets you manage your downloads and allows more than one song to be downloaded  at the same time. Mind you, there’s one glitch that hopefully will be fixed, if you sync your device with the iTunes library, your iSlsk songs will be erased, but it’s still worth a try. To install the application, just goto the Installer.App and find the iSlsk in the BigBoss repo at the Community Sources package. Checkout the video after the break.

iCube Brings Rubik’s Cube To Your iPhone

Remember Rubik’s Cube? turns out you can play it virtually on your iphone or your ipod touch devices, thanks to the iCube application, that lets you choose the number of cubes (2 x 2×2, 3 x 4 x 3×3 or 4×4) and start flicking on the side facet until completing the game, without the ability to exchange stickers. iDial Brings The Rotary Dial To The iPhone

iDial recalls long forgotten events, as this new application lets you dial from your touchscreen iphone device like old time telephone, swiveling the dial rotor and hearing the same tunes. iPhone Gets Home-Screen Widgets With IntelliScreen

IntelliScreen is a cool iphone application that lets you glancingly review all your important data, including recent emails, SMS messages, RSS feed headlines, calender events and weather reports, from your home screen (”slide to unlock screen”), without the need to unlock the phone. The application is fully customized and enables personalization at your choice. Mind you, it’s in beta version and may caused problems, crashes or even data erasion, so be careful and backup your stuff, or be patient and wait for the official release. However, if you think you are pros, you can install it from the Installer.app (instructions here).

iPhone Gets Surveillance Capabilities With Lextech App.

Lextech has developed a cool surveillance application for the iphone, allowing users to control their camera positioning via the intuitive multi-touch interface, by dragging the fingers on the screen and moving the camera around. In addition, users can zoom in and out by simply pinching the picture, exactly the way they zoom other images with the finger gestures. This means, no more endless hours, spent sitting in front of monitors, following the action. Instead, you can carry your handset and track things down threw the Lextech app, wherever you go. Archos Firmware 2.0.10 Brings Flash 9 To 5th Generation PMPs

archos-605-mini Today, after months of speculations, Archos has finally met the expectations and released firmware update 2.0.10 that includes:

  • WebTV and Radio (with optional Plug-in).
  • GPS (with optional car cradle).
  • Alarm Clock.
  • Flash 9 support.

There’s no doubt that among the new features above, the most juicy newsworthy one is the Flash 9, which places Archos PMPs at the top of the players and the only ones to support flash 9. The new release enables Archos users to surf the internet seamlessly, without having to miss any web details or applications, as the tendency points to built-in flash 8/9 web services.
