Greenpeace Alerts From Dangerous Chemicals In Game Consoles

I don’t want to put you into panic, but i guess it is important for gamers to be aware of the possibility that game consoles might contain some hazardous chemicals with an impact on their memory and learning capabilities for the long term. The source for this latest alert is Greenpeace, who tested 3 major gaming consoles, including Xbox, PS3 and Nintento Wii. The organization has found those dangerous materials, like phthalates and bromine, in each one of the consoles, on different parts, so next time you crash your car on GTA IV, just think of the consequences. Mind you, Greenpeace offers a direct contact to the manufacturers in order to put some pressure and demand a clean up consoles. Interestingly, only Nintendo’s email has worked out.

King Deco Turns The DS Lite Into a Styling Nightmare

First time I’ve encountered with this picture, i thought it’s an old fashioned purse, designed for super-chic grannies. Turns out i was totally wrong, It is a Nintendo DS Lite, turned into a crappy piece of coated spangling pearls, courtesy of King Deco. I mean, seriously, what were they thinking, is there anyone in this planet that consider buying this thing? I guess not, unless you’re a DS collector.

iPhone Racing Game “Raging Thunder” Lets You Drive a Car With The Gyro Accelerometer

Raging Thunder, for iphone or iPod Touch devices brings new fascinating gaming experience, allowing drivers to choose a cool sporty car and burn the tracks, controlling it with the built-in gyro accelerometer. This new navigation method marks the next car-control generation, as it replaces the old wheel with new technology structures, enabling on-the-go playable racing games. The OpenGL 3D graphics looks very rich and the game itself works well, though it has some bugs and glitches here and there. The game is available to jailbroken handsets via the Installer.app, so if you look for a nice enjoyable way to pass your time on the train, it might be an adequate solution.

GTA IV Gets Online Social Google Maps Service To Share Your discoveries With Your Friends

Everybody wants to take part and have a roll in the GTA IV madness, as I hear that Liberty City locals will enjoy the ability to navigate their way threw the massive number of “points of interest”, interspersed across the town, with Google Maps. The service provides online social game mapping, allowing players to share their discovery points (like restaurants, clubs, bars, bowling, ATM, gun shops or Internet Cafe) with their friends, by simply adding markers on the map and pointing the exact location of the place. I wonder if someone has time to read this thing, as I find many of my friends busy all day, playing the game, burning the roads.

Wiimote Cufflinks Designed For Gamers In Suits

I’m not so sure there are gamers in suits, but in any case they do decide to wear one, the new Wiimote cufflinks, made of sterling silver, can be a nice accessory to complete the look, as the front is a Wiimote and the back is a Nunchuk. Mind you, those cuffs don’t come cheap, and a pair of them will cost you $150, but it shouldn’t deter Wii fans from getting a chance to own something so unique.

PlayStation 3 GTA IV Package Hits Europe

Remember the Xbox 360 limited-edition version, bundled with Grand Theft Auto IV? Turns out Sony has the same thing, as a 40GB PS3 console, packed with the desired game, has popped up in a Swedish retailer’s website, offering a nice designed GTA IV case along with all the required accessories. Price is extremely high, since the Scandinavian market is very expensive, but even though, 4,499 SEK ($755) won’t deter fanatic gamers from purchasing it. No details when this special edition is set to be released in the US, but be sure it will, for a much cheaper price.

XCM Introduces a Chrome Cover Shell For Xbox 360

I don’t really like this whitish Xbox 360 color, i think it’s dull and pale. To serve my desires (and others), XCM has created a really cool chrome Xbox 360 case, compatible with the HDMI ports. This new metallic mirrored shell will shine on your desk for merely $60, but if you want a matchable skin for your controllers, it should be $25 each, which makes this  escapade a bit expensive and very smudgy.

Nintendo DS Lite - Barack Obama Style

It seems Nintendo DS Lite is getting many refreshing designs lately, some of them are official, some are not. This time it is a street artist, named Shepard Fairey, who decided to bring his favorite presidential candidate onto his DS Lite surface, by sticking Barack Obama’s artwork portrait on the case, showing off his future vote. To customize his Nintendo DS, Fairey used a 4×6 sticker, ordered from Sticker Robot, and For some reason, this new design looks original and genuine to fit in Obama’s campaign - Yes We Can.

Counter Strike Hits The iPod Touch

Although it may seems hard to play this shooter game with your fingers, tapping on the multi-touch screen, we like the idea and the intention of bringing 3D games to the iPhone or the iPod Touch. Counter Strike is just the beginning, yes it’s buggy, hard to control and barely playable, but I’m sure it will be improved with the next versions. The installation is a bit complicated for tech fogies, so just check out the following video. If you insist trying it, read the instructions after the break.

Is This The Next GTA IV Map?

As mentioned before, the expectation for the new GTA IV, turns me into an impatient critter, and the following possible PS3 map images, leaked just few hours ago, only increase the intolerance. The pictures include the next Liberty City itself, descriptions of various scene locations, the subway map and more. All in all, I fairly can say these images resemble to New York City one after the other, and although there is no official authenticity confirmation, I’m surely convinced they are real and not just a mockup.
