Assuming these two following roadmap slides, that recently surfaced up on Eeeuser.com, are real, one should expect seeing a lot of intensive activity from Asus direction, in the coming months, as the Taiwanese corp apparently planning to retake over the jammed US netbooks market, by tossing inside some new and advanced mini-laptop devices, hoping to convince all those tech junkie spendthrifts open their empty wallets wide and buy themselves a piece or two. However, with so many cheap and reasonably “specs balanced” alternatives available around, Asus journey, getting to early adopters’ geeky hearts is probably longer and much harder than it may look on the ground. Nevertheless, according to these latest treasure troves, found in the wild, In Q3 and Q4 of 2009, we’re going to be seeing a brand new 1005HA-P unit, packing a 250GB HDD, paired with Atom N280 processor and offered with optional Windows 7 OS that will set you back for $399, with shipping arrangements, expected to get started somewhere in October. Another “Seashell” like, upgraded version, is the 1005HA-M Atom N270 unit, that runs a Windows 7 Starter Edition flavor and has 250GB HDD storage – all priced at $349. More on that, is the all new 12-inch 1201N Eee PC netbook which will likely include NVIDIA’s latest Ion platform, sitting next to Intel’s Atom N270 processor, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, set and ready to transfer your relays for $499, sharp when it’s up for release in mid-October. And last but not least are these two models, the 1008HA netbooks that somehow dropped out from the list, and the T91 multi-touch tablet that runs a copy of Windows 7 OS as well, while storage capacity features 32GB SSD and price tag stands at $549. Are you fed up with those endless netbook machines around? Make sure you have enough room for one more version to digest, as Asus recently announced the new Eee PC 1000HV Atom N280 edition, which allegedly includes the ordinary specs we’re all familiar with, but also a strong ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics set, to take care your hefty video duties, such as HD content and gaming treats. Other than AMD’s powerful card (which isn’t that common among this laptop category) this sleeky portable device houses a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive and a VGA output to hook your new toy into a larger screen. Still no word on price or availability, but we’ll feed you in with the details as soon as they arrive.

While we were taking the wraps off the Eee Box 206 last week, Asus was already prepping its next release, which has been confirmed as the Eee Box B208, coming with a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 processor, along with 1GB of RAM, a memory card reader, WiFi b/g/n connection, ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card, a bundled remote control and HDMI output, to let you watch any HD content on your LCD TV. Different from previous versions, the new B208 will house Windows Vista in each of the optional storage capacities, starting from 160GB inside the basic package and up to 320GB at the top. Other than that, you get an integrated battery, to be used as a UPS device in case of a power outage and the already known Eee Cinema software to handle your multimedia files. Unfortunately, there are no available details about price or availability, but be sure we’ll share this info as soon as it lands in.
Update1: This is weird, but Asus has just removed the B208 from its website, after a very short appearance, and we have no idea why or when this new nettop machine is about to make a comeback. Until then, you’ll have to settle with the aforementioned specs that we’ve managed to pull out while it was up. In any case, no pricing details to share at this point but we promise to update soon.
Update2: Latest reports indicate the Eee Box B208 might show up again, this time on the European side of the world, somewhere around June – fingers crossed.

Looks like Asus Eee Box 206 finally makes a debut, after been spotted back in December 2008 together with the Eee Box 204 version. The new 206 Eee Box model can easily distinguish itself from previous devices with the HDMI port at the back and the AMD ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics card inside that give more video power to the users, along with the other components that include a DVI output, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi/Bluetooth connections and a bundled remote control, which lets you handle everything from the sofa. To get this new machine, powered by Windows XP and Eee Cinema media software, you will have to separate yourself from £310 ($438), so make a choice, it’s either Black or White [Another image after the break].
Update: According to the guys at Register Hardware who’ve managed to put their hands on ASUS’ Eee Box B206, it seems this little creature encountered major difficulties while handling high-def content, even when playing 720P videos – which makes it mainly usable for internet surfing, and some other casual tasks like office management or image browsing. And with poor Benchmark scores achieved, looks like your dream of 1080p machine, sitting next to your brand new LCD screen, is about to vanish.

Following the release of the Eee Box 202, Asus has decided to go far beyond, offering two new models, including the Eee Box B204 and B206, which pack the same specs, like Windows XP Home, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD storage, and 802.11n WiFi, only with additional HDMI socket that improves the 1080p handling and plays high-def content without stuttering. There’s also Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in battery on the B204 version, so you will be able to continue using it in case there’s an electric crash at your vicinity. Still, no price or availability details.
Update1: turns out Asus has launched another model – a Celeron-based Eee Box B203, boasting Intel C220 processor, 160GB storage capacity and up to 2GB RAM.

Asus has totally confused me on this one, and I’m not so sure why in heaven they insist on attaching their Eee brand to the new all-in-one touchscreen PC, but I guess the company wants to build some reputation to their non-portable computers, and the Eee moniker can definitely assist. Anyways, this touchscreen desktop, which includes a 15.6-inch LCD display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3MP camera, memory card slot, built-in WiFi and 160GB HDD, is up for pre-order on UK website Play.com, priced at £399.99 ($685) and expected to be officially released on November 20th.

So far, we’ve seen too many Eee PC versions, but only two colors to choose from, including black and white (N10 version not included). However, after squinting around, Asus has realised it needs some diversity, and added two more hues to the casing pool. For the moment, you will be able to snatch a golden 900A or a dark-blue 901A, which suprisingly, resembles the popular Acer Aspire one netbook. As for the other internal specifications, looks like they remain the same, although we can’t have similar confidentiality concerning the prices.

Turning back, at the beginning of June, Asus has officially introduced its latest Intel Atom-based ultra mini Eee PC laptops, including the Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000H models. Now we hear unofficial rumors, claiming that US pricing has been revealed and they are not going to come cheap. According to the Asus PR source, the Eee PC 901 will cost you $599 for both Linux and Windows XP versions, as the Eee PC 1000 and 1000H models will be offered for $699 and $649 respectively. Mind you, that all prices are “estimated and subject to change”, specially when MSI Wind comes in at $499 for the Windows XP version or $399 for the Linux and the Acer Aspire one at $400. And we say – long live the competition.

After Asus, MSI, HP and Dell, there’s another player who wants to take part in the mini-laptop party, as Acer has introduced its new Aspire One notebook at Computex in Taipei. Nothing much to say, but we do know it will be equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 8.9-inch LED-backlit display (1024 x 600), a built-in 1.3 MP camera, three USB 2.0, card reader slot, 802.11b/g and Ethernet connectivity. You will be able to choose between a Linux model with 8GB SSD storage capacity or a Windows XP model with 80GB hard drive. The Acer Aspire One will be available this month in white or blue flavors, for prices ranged from $400 (Linux version) up to $600 (XP version).

Update2: Turns out there is a problem, once playing music at maximum level through the speakers. According to several reports, a guy who played U2′s “Hold Me, Thrill Me…” at full sound, caused a vibration of the speakers which completely trashed the hard drive. The problems occurs only in hard drive devices but skips out in case you have SSD drives.

Asus has decided that Computex 2008 in Taipei is the right time to officially introduce the new Eee Box B202, which will go live in the US around July. It runs both Windows XP or Linux versions and features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, along with 802.11n WLAN connectivity, SD/MMC/MS slot, DVI output and many more. The Eee Box houses storage capacity ranged from 80GB up to 250GB and internal memory, starting from 512MB to 2GB, so you can run all your applications smoothly. Price tag begins with $269 for the basic package, including 1GB RAM, 80GB storage capacity and Linux version, as the XP flavor goes for $299.
Update: it runs 720p HD videos pretty smoothly but quiet choppy on the 1080p.

As planned, the Eee PC 900 goes live in the US right on time, coming in 2 versions: The first, running Windows XP with 12GB of storage (4GB Built-in + 8GB Flash based), priced at $600. The second, running Linux with 20GB of storage (4GB Built-in + 16GB Flash based), priced at $566. The rest pretty much stays the same, including 8.9-inch WSVGA display (1024×600), 1GB DDR2 RAM, 1.3 megapixel camera, MMC/SD/SDHC Card Reader, WLAN 802.11 B/G connectivity and more. Surprisingly, the prices are a bit higher than previous declarations but i guess early adopters always pay some extra cash. Both models are available in Buy.com and ZipZoomfly, so if you can’t hold your breath anymore, this is your time to get one.

Although it is not expected to be released with the new Intel Atom processor, the new Eee PC 900 looks very impressive, as the guys at pcmarket arranged a quick video preview of the mini laptop, showing its qualities, compared to the previous Eee PC 701 model. To recall, the new Eee 900 is equipped with an 8.9-inch screen, houses 12GB or 12GB storage capacities and has a large multi-touchpad. Hopefully it will arrive Stateside with the release of the Atom around June. Check out the video:
Update: Asus has confirmed that an Atom-based Eee PC is set to be released in June, along with a new Eee PC 10-inch model to be launched this year.

Remember the rumors about a touchscreen in the Eee PC? Turns out they were very accurate, as Kevin Lin, ASUS VP of Sales, says Asus will officially start selling the 8.9-inch model with a touchscreen, somewhere around June, for $500. The next Eee PC generation will also include 1GB of RAM, 8GB to 12GB SSD storage capacity and possibly, a GPS system. In addition, we here that the next version (aka Eee 900) might have a “multi-finger gesture input”, as the ultra mini laptop hits the FCC. This means it would include a trackpad, similar to the one in the MacBook Air, with zoom in, zoom out and two-finger scrolling capabilities. We can’t wait anymore…

It seems that many manufacturers got envy with the enormous success of the Asus Eee PC and wanted to have one of their own. The new UMPC series, from Kojinsha, is equipped with AMD Geode processor, 7″ 1024×600 resolution and a GPS navigation system. More info will be revealed at the CES show and I’m guessing we will see more of those during 2008.
