Chinese company Onda, announces the release of the VX626 PMP, to be available in early December with a 2.8-inch screen, Rockchips RK2706 processor and the usual features, including an FM tuner, e-book reader,  and even high-resolution video support. Still, no info concerning the price, but those who buy this one, will enjoy a built-in CMMB receiver, which means, a portable TV inside.

With so much disinformation floating around, we can’t be sure either these images are real or just a hoax, but you have to admit they look very reliable, with this nice black or white varnished cover and those colorful boxes, laying down next to the Meizu M8 manual and installation CD. But the most interesting thing is the new specs that jump out of the pile, featuring a strong ARM11 800MHz CPU, 3.4-inch 720 x 480 touchscreen, 4GB/8GB/16GB capacities, 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The new Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID makes a debut right on time, as the Beijing Olympic games take place these days and new world records are getting smashed. Official specs include a 4.8-inch touchscreen, Intel Atom Z500 800MHz processor, GPS navigation system, front/rear cameras, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G and even Wimax support (wow!). In addition it has 1GB of RAM, 6GB flash storage and a place for a dongle, to receive China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting signals, in order to watch the Olympics for free, if you happened to be in China, all for the size of 21 x 173 x 84mm and 350 grams. No word on price, but you should expect a smartphone costing, so start saving.

Update: Price is set to be around $730 (4,999 yuan) which is not that cheap, considering you can get a laptop, but sometimes you have to pay for light portability.

Another ultra-mini notebook joins the group, as Lenovo officially announces the release of the new IdeaPad S10, coming up Stateside in early October with a Windows XP operating system, Powered by Intel Atom processor, together with a 10-inch LED backlit display (1024 x 600). In addition, the new IdeaPad features an integrated multi-touch touchpad, a built-in 1.3M Camera, 4 in 1card Reader, Bluetooth, wireless 802.11 b/g connection and 3 cell / 6 cell battery, delivering 3 to 6 hours, respectively. Lenovo will be offering the S10 in different configurations, including a 512MB memory with 80GB storage capacity for $399 or a 1GB model with 160GB capacity for $450. You will be able to choose out of red black or white flavors and Lenovo promises to launch a 9-inch version with Linux OS aboard in other countries, later on. Sony has introduced its latest PMX-M89 PMP, designed exclusively for the Chinese market and equipped with a 4.3-inch wide screen (480 x 272), an FM tuner, a microphone, 9EQ, a memory card slot and 16GB of storage capacity. It is sized at 116.9 x 74 x 12.7 mm and has a Map Browser which is a sort of an A-GPS application to navigate your way, wherever you are. Format support is reasonable, with MP3, WMA, AAC audio files, AVi, MP4, MPEG-4 video files and JPEG compatibility for image files. Available in black and white, the player will play 6 hours of video or 18 hours of audio , so if Sony is a brand you like and China is your next destination, $330 and the player is yours.

Chinese company Tsinghua Tongfang has announced the release of the new PMC-M880 PMP, coming with a wide 3.0-inch 260k colors screen (420 x 240), 4GB of internal flash storage, an FM tuner, a microphone, 10 EQ, and TV output that runs 720 X 576 resolution. It is compatible with RM, RMVB, FLV, AVI, DivX, XviD, APE, FLAC, WMA, MP3, JPEG, TXT file formats and supports Microsoft’s PlayFX. No word on price or availability, but it seems this one stays in China and won’t travel Stateside.

Wooden trend doesn’t skip the iPhone handset, as Wanxinda Enterprise Group has introduced a new lineup of skin cases for the iPhone and the iPod Touch devices, including a nice woody case that would greatly protect your unit with its stiff cover. The new sleeky timber coat is pierced in the right places so you won’t need to remove the skin in order to use the buttons. As for price or availability, it’s still hard to determine, since the product was just introduced at China Sourcing Fairs 2008, but we do hope it will arrive Stateside, shortly.

Chinese corporation MeLE has announced the release of two new PMPs, on China Sourcing Fairs at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The first one is the PMC-200, which MeLE defines as a “low cost” PMP, coming with a 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen (320 x 240), huge storage capacity, ranged from 80GB to 160GB, a PVR function to record high quality video from your TV or any other source, with resolution up to 720×480 @30fps or 720×576 @25fps. Measures are 142.5x81x20 – 290g.

The second one is the PMC-600, which MeLE defines as a “Luxury” PMP, coming with a wide 4.3-inch LCD screen (480 x 272), huge 160GB storage capacity, SD/MMC/MS card reader, HD output (scale up tp 720P/1080i) and USB 2.0 interface. It is compatible with MPEG 1/2/4, XVID (720×480 @30fps), AVI, MPG file formats and sized at 153 x 79 x 23 – 360g. No word on price or availability for both players.

Ramos unveils the new V8 PMP, coming with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a nice black sleeky design. It is equipped with a special motion sensor that detects screen rotation (like the one in the iPod Touch) and adjusts the image respectively. It also features a TV output, USB 2.0 connection, a built-in camera and more. The player is compatible with MP4, AVI, DivX, RMVB, MP3, WMA, FLAC file formats, and has a text viewer, to read your documents directly from the device itself. No word on price or availability but we hope it will go live very soon.

The new X-100 houses 2GB of storage, a microphone, an FM tuner, USB 2.0 and more. It is compatible with formats like MP3 , WMA, APE, FLAC, WAV, AMR, RM / RMVB, ASF, AVI, MP4, and FLV files, so in case you tend to visit Asia in the nearer future, the X100 can be yours for $56.
