Asus Eee PC T91GO Is The Same Tablet Netbook, Only With 3G Capabilities

March 3rd, 2009 No comments

Remember the Eee PC T91 tablet netbook that showed up at the CES show back in January? Turns out Asus has even a newer version, which was recently introduced in Cebit and answers the name T91GO. This latest tablet device sports a slim and impressive design, together with an 8.9-inch swivel touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD and Atom Z520 processor. But one thing that distinguish the T91GO from its older version is the integrated quadband 3G HSPA modem that lets you hook up to the internet from any place you want, without the need to be around hotspots. Other than that, you get the same WiFi / Bluetooth connections, battery that can provide up to 5hrs time and Windows XP, combined with a designated Eee PC Touch UI. Still no word on priceor availability, but you can checkout the video from UMPC Portal after the break.

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Sprouts Out With some New Colors

March 1st, 2009 No comments

While first  Eee PC 1000HE netbooks already been shipped to some lucky customers just a week ago, turns out Asus will be offering its latest netbook, covered with some new colors, besides the usual ones. In other words, those who’ve patiently waited for interesting developements to happen, will be able to get their new ultra-portable laptop painted in brushed-silver, blue, pink or onyx instead of the already-exist black and white tinges. Other specs remain the same, including 1.66Ghz Atom N280 CPU, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivities – all priced at $374  – which turns to be a real bargain, considering the 8700mAh 6-cell battery inside, that suppose to provide up to 9.5 working hours, and the new chiclet keyboard that replaces the previous “not so comfortable one.

Update: In a defying move, Asus claims that the Eee PC 1000HE is a much better netbook than Acer’s D150 latest version, in all aspects. according to the Asian corp, while taking a closer look at design and performance, it’s easy to realize that the 1000HE comes with a larger keyboard, features a faster 802.11n WiFi connection and boasts a stronger 8,700mAH battery, compared to the 5,800mAH inside the Aspire One. To get convinced, hit the jump and look at the pictures.

Asus Will End-Up 8.9″ Netbooks Production In 2009

February 22nd, 2009 1 comment

Rumors around the block state that Asus will be axing all 8.9-inch Eee PC netbooks in 2009. According to several reporters, Asustek’s president of Asia-Pacific division, Benson Lin, was quoted saying that the Taiwanese corporation has decided to continue in the path of 10-inches and 7-inches only, which means no more 8.9-inches for the masses. That makes us wonder why those two sizes – from one hand, the 10-inch version is so popular in terms of netbooks that Asus plans to sell 95% of this size at 2009, and from the other hand, the 7-inch version that has literally ignited the ultra-portable trend, is planned to take 5% of their sales, for 3G purposes and telecoms service operators use. In our opinion, Asus will have to comply with market needs and seems that we’re expected to see 12-inch devices in the near future, or even bigger, but it will surely exceed netbooks limits.

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Netbook Will Support Longer Working Hours

February 5th, 2009 2 comments

It’s been a while since we were last hearing from Asus about any new netbook release, but no worries the Taiwanese are here, live and kicking with the Eee PC 1000HE, which is part of the 1000H lineup, only capable of providing up to 9.5 working hours (!), thanks to the high-density battery and Super Hybrid Engine technology that the company has developed. Surprisingly, the official announcement first popped up on ASUS Eee PC Facebook group, suggesting a 10-inch LED backlit display, together with a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, 160GB hard-drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection and Bluetooth 2.0. Price wise, the new 1000HE model will set you back for $399 in pre-order, but FB group members get an additional $25 discount, which makes the entire deal very affordable. Checkout the official announcement after the break.

Update1: checkout the preliminary review from Laptop Mag.

Update2: now you can find it in-stock at ZipZoomFly, without the $25 rebate. Otherwise, you should patiently wait for other retailers to get their shipments.

update3: looks like Amazon starts taking orders, offering the 1000HE for an attractive price of $374, which is a very competitive one, specially when we talk about a 10-inch model with N280 CPU and up to 9.5hrs of battery time.

Asus Introduces a 160GB Eee PC 900HA Netbook

October 3rd, 2008 2 comments

Asus keeps raining more and more Eee PC netbook versions, when this time, it’s the Eee PC 900HA, which is pretty similar to its 900A sibling, only with a 160GB hard drive, instead of the 30GB inside the previous model. The rest of the specs stay the same, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4-cell battery, Windows XP onboard and the usual 8.9-inch 1,024 x 600 display. Now, generally speaking, we welcome new additions, anytime, anywhere, but c’mon guys, don’t you think this is too confusing. I mean, why launching a new model when all you can do is announcing a new 900A edition. Seriously, the more you release, the more it gets frustrating, and don’t get me wrong, I truly like these netbooks, but it’s really hard to follow, when the same laptop keeps coming, only with a different name, isn’t it? Anyways, it is now available for $349, if you manage tracking them.

Update: looks like our desperate call wasn’t strong enough, since Asus has just released the Eee PC 904HA, with 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 6-cell battery and a 160GB hard drive, adorned with green or red glaring colors and priced at $399.99 (via eeepcnews). Don’t bother to much, it’s exactly the same as the 900HA version, only with an improved battery and different casing. Check the picture after the break.

Asus Eee PC 900A 30GB Version Shows Up In Asia

July 18th, 2008 1 comment

Asus Eee PC 900 has a new 30GB storage capacity version, replacing some of the previous 12GB and 20GB models. All three versions include 1GB RAM, WLAN 802.11 B/G connectivity, MMC/SD/SDHC Card Reader, black or white colors at your choice and the usual 8.9 inch screen display. In addition, two of the models will run a Linux OS, as the third one will have the XP flavor. Mind you, these are not Atom based mini laptops, so it looks a little pricey to pay over $500 when you have the 901series.

Is This The New Asus Eee PC Desktop?

March 29th, 2008 No comments

Encouraged by the huge Eee PC ultra-mini laptop success around the world, Asus wants to harness the momentum to its favor. The company has driveled some pieces of information about launching an Eee PC desktop version, somewhere in 2008, and the following picture, leaked only recently, might be the rumored prototype Asus was talking about. No official confirmation yet, but I do hope it is authentic because I really like the way it looks.
