Incipio introduces the Companion World Travel Cables, allowing Apple users to travel around the globe without carrying any bulky outlet adapters. The cables include a set of four AC plugs (with a 12″ whip), designed to minimize load while maximizing function. The kit requires the white portable power adapter, bundled with the MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iBook and PowerBook G4. It also works with the iPod and iPhone USB Power Adapter and it’s 40$. I guess it leaves plenty of room for more duty free shopping.

We all know the mighty and powerful computers from Alienware, featuring galactic designs and housing muscular hardware. The same shape was inspiring Dell and Alienware to create this alien phone concept, running Android OS under an impressive module with blue glowing grill and sliding mechanism. In the light of recent impacts, the Alienware handset concept has a sensitive touch keypad and joystick, for easy navigation. I wonder if this phone will be able to connect carriers in other galaxies.

Wal-Mart has decided to join Best Buy. The company officially confirmed it will promote the Blue-Ray format, exclusively. The biggest retailer, has started phasing out HD-DVD products and expects to finish the rearrangements by June. This move is probably the straw that broke the camel’s back and we’re expecting Toshiba to announce the death of the HD-DVD format in the upcoming weeks. Wal-Mart’s decision is second to Netflix and Best Buy, that already announced the preferment of Blue-Ray products, believing they are the real winners. I guess we shall see more retailers joining this act, making it unanimously.

Update: Sooner than we’ve expected, Toshiba is officially shutting down its HD-DVD production and closing the Aomori Prefecture perimeter in Japan. A statement is expected to be given soon.

Macbook users tend to complain about those ugly marks and dark smudges, decorating their surface as a result of palm contact or dust accruement. To solve the problem and get back to the original shiny white color, Lifehacker posted an interesting solution: All you have to do is spread on some white toothpaste on the given area, let it dry, clean it with a damp clout and…voila ! back to the first days when the white was bright glowing.

Almost 2 months after Creative released the upgraded Zen 32GB, the company decided to cut down the prices from 349$ to merely 299$. This move was meant to remind us there is a cheaper alternative to the very expensive iPod Touch 32GB model, and we say: let the competition roll…

Firmware version 1.1 can be a dangerous escapade for iPod Classic owners, as we hear the headphones are getting damaged once the update is installed and the device is turned off. For some reason, the latest update sends electric pulses, up to 500mv, causing a real danger to the users and to their earbuds. I guess you should wait with this update until it gets fixed by Apple. If you ran out of patient and already installed it, you should dowgrade to an earlier version.

Now it’s official, the Zune 8GB gets 20$ price cut, so you can find the player across the US for just $179. The reason for the latest discount wasn’t stated but I believe Microsoft wants to increase the competition with Apple’s iPod players. The reduction brings the Zune 4GB only 30$ away from the 8GB player, which makes it dispensable.
