It’s up to you to decide how to call MSI’s new dual-screen device, whether it’s a netbook, a smartbook, an E-Reader, a tablet, a MID, a courier, you name it, it’s your call – but one thing’s for sure – you want it and so do we! It’s still a prototype and no one can really tell when or where it would get a “Go”. It packs dual 10-inch displays (one on each side), both include capacitive multitouch screens, with pretty fast respond. There’s no official name for this one at the moment, but it runs a Windows 7 Home Premium platform with all the pomp and innards involved, like a virtual keyboard control, an ebook reader, 1.86 GHz Atom Z540 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD storage and finally, two USB ports. You will hear about it a lot more, but until then, hit the break and watch the show.

Coby is one of the very few companies to introduce a new media player at the CES 2010 show in Vegas. They had one back in last year’s show and the have another, this year. The latest, which looks quiet impressive and resembles Creative Zii, is Coby’s MP837 player that packs a 3-inch touchscreen (with a very responsive display), along a revamped interface, 22-hour battery life, slick black body and wide range of formats support, including OGG, FLV, H.264 and Xvid. No word about price or availability at this point, but engadget has a video that proves our word. Check it out after the jump.

It’s really hard to figure out what exactly are you holding in your hand these days, whether it’s a media player or maybe a phone, smartphone, “superphone”, etc. And Viliv wasn’t making it easy on us either, in that matter. Therefor we were a bit in the dark when first read about the company’s P3 PMP device. Now we know, it’s a multimedia player, back then we weren’t sure, but that’s why you have the CES show to straight things up, isn’t it?  And although we still can’t tell when this thing goes upon sale and how much will it cost, we do know it sports a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 AMOLED display, paired with a strong 800MHz Cortex A8 processor and storage up to 32GB. The 1.7mm thin device also offers a microSD slot expansion at the bottom, next to a 720p TV-output, and optional T-DMB and DAB tuners within. The model that was spotted in Viliv’s booth included an Android platform but it would run a Windows CE dual-boot OS as well. Until then, stay tuned. Hands-on video right after the break.

It looks great, it sports a 10-inch capacitive display, runs a powerful Tegra 2 chipset and called Harmony. That’s pretty much what we  know about MSI’s new Android tablet that recently showed up at the CES show in Vegas. The platform is actually an Android 2.1 and the slate is literally tagged as an E-book machine.  It has both WiFi and 3G WWAN connectivity included, and apparently, wants to be “your office to go” solution.  Check out the videos we’ve added half past the break.

Lenovo has really given a thought lately to what bring us geeks out and make us extremely excited whenever approaching new gadgets. And clearly, the company has spent a lot of time and budgets when it first came up with the idea of creating a product that combines a laptop and a tablet under one single hood. Well, the product is now officially out and youm can call it IdeaPad U1 Hybrid. It looks both innovative and stylish at the same time, and packs a 11.6-inch laptop with a detachable multitouch display that turns the screen into a nice portable tablet, running Lenovo’s proprietary Skylight Linux platform and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, paired with a 16GB SSD and that nice looking multitouch slate. The entire pack, including the tablet and the laptop together, weighs only 3.8 pound and boasts a CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor , lining up with a chicklet-style keyboard, a 128GB SSD, a big integrated touchpad and Windows 7 Premium preloaded onboard. Nothing much to share at this point, but Dell has revealed a new slate/tablet device at its keynote speech at CES in Vegas. Designed like a business smartphone, and some would say it is one considering the SIM slot it boasts, the new Reddish device  includes an Android platform preloaded inside, and a 5-inch touchscreen on top. There’s also an integrated 5MP camera at the back and three clickable buttons on the right – Home, Back and (maybe) apps. Furthermore, up the hill, it houses three additional buttons which looks like ON/OFF, camera and volume support. We’ve also spotted a built-in mic and Bluetooth, but that’s all we have for now.

Update1: engadget guys were lucky to sit around the table with Dell’s representative who was kind enough to give a quick tour and show them Dell’s new mysterious slate in a snap. From first impression we’re guessing it’s an Android 1.6 platform that runs inside, but quiet positive there’s a nice numpad add-on included in the keyboard and a tiny face camera right on front. We’re not sure whether it’d be called Mini 5 or codename Streak, but color us impressed from the way it performed. Vid and thumbs, after the break.

Update2: Turns out it’s a 5-inch mid, boasting 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen,along integrated WiFi and 3G WWAN connectivity. It runs Android 2.0 (Eclair) instead of that 1.6 flavor and seems to endure a dual-LED flash 5mp camera behind and a 1,300mAh battery within. Update3: The Tinhte team has taken Dell’s Android-based Mini 5 slate/mid to a teardown session, and guess what they’ve found under the hood – a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, two microSD slots, integrated SIM card with 3G radio and a 1,530mAh battery, stronger than expected. Lenovo definitely shows a lot of creativity at this year’s CES show in Vegas. And just in case you were thinking the Chinese would likely settle with their latest good-looking Skylight, think twice, because the way it looks, there’s a lot more down in their sleeves. Hence the first one in this session, is the IdeaPad S10-3 which Lenovo completely revamped and stuffed inside a beautiful 10-inch screen, paired with an Atom N470 CPU, nice chicklet-style keys, a 3-cell battery (optional 6-cell) and premium chassis design that weighs only 2.4 pounds and attractively priced at $399, or 20 bucks less at Amazon’s online store. The second, and more interesting between these two, is the IdeaPad S10-3t tablet netbook which packs a stunning 10-inch swivel screen that boasts a Natural Touch interface plus a highly responsive accelerometer. It would cost you a bit higher, $499 to be accurate, but you will also receive Windows 7 Home Premium and 6-cell Lithium-ion battery, both bundled in the pack. Remember the Mini 5101 that HP released 6 months ago to target high-end customers with business related aspirations? Turns out it’s not alone – as a matter of fact it has a new twin brother that carries the title Mini 5102. The latest, which belongs to the growing Pine Trail family, packs inside an Atom N450 processor along a 10-inch display, offered with a WSVGA or WXGA panels. But as a premium portable device, one can guess it boasts a lot more than usual. What else is new? We’re talking about a Broadcom HD video accelerator, added to the pile, while keyboard is at 95% from the regular one. Besides that you can toss inside any possible operating system available, either it’s FreeDOS, SUSE Linux, Windows XP or Windows 7 Starter/Premium editions. Battery wise, you can choose between 4-cell and 6-cell flavors, but the most attractive alternative, marked as optional, is that super cool capacitive (multitouch) touchscreen which turns that netbook into a tablet (well, not exactly, but you know what I mean). It ain’t going to be cheap, boys and girls, but we still can;t tell how much and when. PR words added after the break.

Lenovo strikes with some interesting stuff at this early stage of the year. The latest, is the company’s stunning ARM-based smartbook, called Skylight. It’s a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 720 display device that offers a new stylish approach that we haven’t seen out there before. For this reason, it’s priced above the average at $499, but offers nice specs lineup which includes a fast 1GHz ARM Snapdragon processor, together with 20GB of flash storage, 2GB of cloud storage, plus an 8GB miniSD card. Furthermore, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2 X USB ports, WiFi, 3G connections and battery with up to 10 hours of continuous work time. The rounded clamshell design looks stunning and the weight is just under 2 pounds, which grants a more convenient portability to this new Skylight machine. According to Lenovo, shipping suppose to begin somewhere around April, as buyers will enjoy a variant of 18 widgets and web apps, already preloaded inside, amongst you’ll find Facebook, Twitter, Gmail Youtube and more. It’s been a while since we last heard from Samsung anything about new media players coming out. But hey, CES 2010 is only two days ahead and that’s probably the best time to announce the release of new products. Actually, there are two: the first, an 8GB device which answers the name MyFit and suppose to target fitness junkies with integrated sensors that detect fat and stress, along a built-in accelerometer and a slew of apps to ensure your health is well (including pedometer and My Coach). The second, which boasts 16GB of internal storage is called Ice Touch, packs 2-inch AMOLED screen and a body, made of tempered glass. It supports wide range of multimedia formats, including HD content and lossless audio and runs a brand of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI called Sweep. Price and availability for both players are yet to be determined.

Korean company Viliv, that already proved us it can release great MIDs and UMPCs, jumps on the PMP bandwagon with the latest HD5 which suppose to make an official appearance at CES 2010 in just few days. Until then, from the sparse details we found, it seems the HD5 player will pack a 5-inch touchscreen display (800 x 480 resolution), hiding underneath 8, 16, or 32GB of storage, SDHC expansion, a DMB/DAB tuner and an HDMI port that can upscale your video library up to 1080p. This slick 13mm device will presumably run Windows CE inside, but don’t count on it at this point. Stay tuned.

Chinese corp RAmos seems to be releasing HD players on a monthly bases – our feeling only – and those of you who’ve been thinking it would slow down a bit, should think again, as the company rolls out yet another one, the T11TE, priced at $177.45 and houses a 5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, paired with microSD slot expansion, 16GB of flash storage, dual 3.5mm jacks(?) and of course, a 1080P HDMI output, to pump high-def videos on your tele – although it runs other common formats such as DAT, MPG, MPEG,VOB, MP4, MOV, AVI, DVD Video, ASF, WMV, MKV, TS, RM,and RMVB. Other than that, this half-inch thick PMP will record voices, thanks to its built-in mic or help you share your music around, with those integrated stereo speakers it boasts. No word whether it would make its way Stateside or not, surely it won’t keep that “new player” title for long.

Android is the key word in here, no doubt, but the tablet issue is no less important, and as you can see, we see a lot of them lately, better with an Android OS loaded onboard (it’s good for the marketing). And Japanese company, Hikari, is no different in that scene, realizing it should implement Google’s magical platform with its new iFrame tablet, which boasts (besides that Android power) a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display (that can be used as a photo frame) along with an SD slot expansion, WiFi connection, a built in speaker and multiple widgets like weather, calendar, news and recipes on top. Price range is claimed to be at $220 and $330 when this thing comes out in 2010. Until then, you can watch the video after the break.

Viewsonic officially gets into the portable HD-compatible world, announcing the VPD400 MovieBook, a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 media player, supporting 720p video files along other common media formats, including AVI, RM/RMVB, FLV, MP4, MOV, PMP, MPG, VOD, DAT, H.264, H.263 and MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE, OGG for audio. Other than that, this stylish all-in-one device – sized only 113mm x 74.5mm x 13.8mm – sports 8GB of internal memory, together with a micro SD slot expansion and AV Output for full sized TV entertainment. Battery is set to work 12 hours of audio playback and six if you’re watching a video. that, as a fact, would give you the benefit of watching HD movies, view photos and read any digital book whenever on the go. Too bad it lacks a WiFi connection, but color wise you get to choose out of Black, White or Pink. No price or availability details available at this point.

Think there are too many portable machines out there? Make a room for one brand more – this time from Litl – a Boston-based company, recently unleashed the Webbook “web computer” netbook, that looks somehow different and priced above the average. It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, uniquely featuring an upside down flipped patented-pending hinge comprised with an integrated scrolling wheel, right on top (the blue button). In addition, for a whopping $699, you get a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, paired with 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi connection, USB 2.0 ports and HDMI output, pumping 720p from your family video shots. Storage capacity ridiculously stands at 2GB(!) only, but the platform for itself  – specially designed by Litl – is exclusive, and mainly shaped to serve as a web-optimized OS, with Flickr, Facebook, and Weather Channel widgets, perfectly displayed on the front. A tiny remote control is also included, as long as you pay $19 more, which bring us to our price rates index, that eloquently gives the Webbook a one big EXPENSIVE score.

Update: We’ve added a nice hands-on video from CES 2010, featuring Litl 12.1-inch Webbook in action. It looks great and works pretty well as a secondary device, targeted for multimedia or Web content users, but it won;t make you coffee in the morning, although it might wake you up with this cool animated alarm clock inside. For many, the 1005HA is probably considered as one of the best netbooks available around, but that as a fact didn’t seem to stop Asus from launching another. The latest, recently emerged in Japan, was tagged as a “business edition” flavor, which frankly, has nothing exceptional inside. In any case, for $700(!) you get yourself an Atom N280 processor, tucked with a 10.1-inch display, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Windows XP Professional edition (no Windows 7?) and a 10.5 hours battery, for every single charge. Well, not exactly the best deal out there, is it?

RAmos are best known for their PMP devices, but the Chinese company seems to be reaching these days some more mainstream machines, with the official Android-based W7 MID announcement, which unveils a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, powered by a strong ARM9 chipset platform and a 600MHz Rockchip RK2808 architecture that technically decodes any common 720p videos in a swift. Besides that, you get a full fledged Android OS to handle RAmos’ system smoothly, while specs wise, you also receive a built-in wifi antenna paired with 3G WWAN connectivity and 8GB or 16GB storage capacities to choose from. Availability is yet to be determined, but prices have already been set to $190 and $234, respectively. Stay tuned.

We already know Viliv and the highly rated MIDs and UMPCs it makes, but even though, the Koreans won’t settle with scarce line of products and apparently these days, are showing off at IDF 2009, their new portable series which seems to include the S10, which looks like a new 10-inches tablet netbook device that technically packs 1,366 x 768 resistive swivel touchscreen, but also Intel’s Atom 1.33GHz or 2.0GHz processors (the 2.0GHz CPU isn’t available yet) and Windows 7 OS, the premium version. Besides that, Viliv lets you choose between 32 or 64GB SSDs (at 70MBps read rates), together with an optional 3G WWAN, 1GB of RAM, a 10 hours battery that runs at one single charge and a built-in webcam, probably a 1.3 megapixels one. Still no word when or where this White/Black hues unit suppose to go live (more likely around Q4 09), but starting price is claimed to stand at $500. Update1: Apparently, Viliv’s S10 tablet netbook just turned official. The 10.1 inch multitouch swivel screen, known as the Blade, integrates 4G mobile WiMAX and 3G HSPA connectivity inside. It’s here! Microsoft officially rolls out its highly rated Zune HD media player, and boy this thing looks good. Yes, we know, most details are pretty much known at this point, but still deserve a round of applause, aren’t they? And just in case you missed the buzz, those fancy shcmancy specs we get, include a beautiful 3.3-inch Gorilla glass 480 x 272 OLED capacitive 16:9 aspect-ratio touchscreen, which hides underneath a built-in HD Radio receiver, seating along with a wireless WiFi antenna connection and a fine batch of accelerometer sensors for landscape use. Excited? We are, but that’s not all, since Redmond has wisely tossed in Nvidia’s mighty Tegra processor, which is technically constructed from eight different sub processors inside, that flawlessly handle their tasks at a time. Now that’s a real beast, isn’t it? OH Yeah. Storage wise, you get to choose between 16GB or 32GB flash capacities that fairly priced at $219.99 and $289.99, respectively.

Apple’s Rock n’ Roll event just went down with Steve Jobs up on stage again, this time suggesting a new colorful iPod nano lineup, available today at the online store, delivering two different storage capacities, 8GB ($149) and 16GB ( $179), to choose from. Other than that, the fifth-generation nano is now offering some neat improvements, with Cupertino unveiling a small video camera, integrated at the back of each player, allowing live video shooting in 640 x 480 video capture resolution at H.264 format, which gets up to 30fps capabilities and including 15 real-time special effects, such as Sepia, Black and White, X-Ray, 2.2Film Grain, Thermal, Security Cam, Cyborg, Bulge, Kaleido, Motion Blur and many others. Additionally, you get a bigger 2.2-inch 376 x 240 display, holding an FM tuner that has Live Pause feature underneath, sitting along with iTunes Tagging support, a pedometer element, built in speaker / microphone  and a voice over trait – all packed into a small sized 3.6 x 1.5 x 0.24-inches body frame that holds a battery which literally plays up to 24 hours of audio and 5 hours of video.
