We’ve already seen that Eee PC 1008P, coated with alligator patterns upside down, back in December 2009. At that time, we were told it would be branded as a “Seashell 2″ edition, but now, when it’s officially out, we know for sure it’s a Pine Trail netbook, packing Atom N450 processor inside. Designed by Karim Rashid, the hot pink/coffee brown machine runs a Windows 7 Home Premium under a 10.1-inch hood, which also hides within 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics, 1.3MP camera, and a cool swappable 3-cell battery, providing up to 6 hours life. It looks like Asus wants to make it harder and harder to decide which netbook should be better for us to buy. And after the company already announced the 1005P/1005PE Pine Trail netbooks which suppose to be released somewhere around mid-January, it now releases for pre-orders the Eee PC 1001P that boasts exactly the same 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, but includes only Windows XP preloaded inside, instead of the popular newcomer, Windows 7 Starter. Besides that single core Atom processor, the new portable clamshell-style machine will also include a 10.1-inch 1024 × 600 display, along Intel’s GMA3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 0.3-MP webcam, WiFi, Mic and a 4400 mAh battery. Amazon.de has it listed for your pre-orders at €249 (about $360) and shipping is set to the 3rd week of 2010. No signs for US appearance at this point.

Update: Looks like Amazon US finally adds the Asus 1001P to its netbook listing with that same specs mentioned up, for $339.99.

Not that anyone was getting surprised reading it – but for those of you who were disconnected from RSS feeds lately, and deprived themselves of glancing at any tech news, mind you that a second set of  Intel Pine Trail platform is about to hit the netbooks scene, and should be out at any moment. And Taiwanese corp Asus, to be one of the first to unveil its latest state-of-the-art lineup, which apparently includes two Eee PC Seashell machines, both pack Intel’s 1.66GHz Atom N450 “Pineview” CPUs (45-nanometer), as the first one, Eee PC 1005P, houses a 160GB hard drive, basic 6-cell Li-ion battery and matte 10-inch 1024×768 LED backlit screen, while the second, Eee PC 1005PE, comes with a bigger, 250GB HDD, stronger 6-cell Li-ion battery, more powerful Intel GMA 3150 graphics and that same size 10-inch display, only with a glossy panel integrated inside. The two, will be offered either in Black or White flavors, at the time they will be released – January 11th – priced at £211 ($345) and £235 ($380), respectively. Asus, as you may have heard, has planned to introduce this cool Pinky-flavored Seashell 2 netbook (1008P), designed by Karim Rashid, next month at the CES show, but the guys at HardwareZone apparently managed to take some photos of this foursquare textured wonder a lot before its time. From what we know so far, it’s going to include Intel’s latest N450 processor, along a 10-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and VGA output, stuffed into a mini-USB adapter. Other ports are closed behind small compartment doors and additional battery (if you have one at your disposal) now has a special room to hide, right at the back.  Besides that, we have no other details to share, so be patient until next month and meanwhile, enjoy the Taiwanese new Eee PC style.

Tablets, Androids, portable devices, we keep hearing them a lot, everywhere we go, in/off cyber world. The latest, is from Camagni, a Taiwanese group that brings us the Webstation, an Android-based tablet device which sports a 7-inch 800 x 480 glass touchscreen, paired with a 624MHz Marvell PXA303 processor, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (expandable up to 8GB capacity) and a nice slick whitish frame, that comfortably fits the palm of your hand. Communication wise, you’ll find the Webstation equipped up to date with 3G WWAN, 802.11b/g WiFi and even a GPS navigation system, that was tucked in order to guide your way out there. Price suppose to stand at $399 in Japan while availability dates are still a mystery – although we do know – that basic white flavor is not alone and Pink or Black hues will hit the shelves as well. Update1: Turns out you can pre-order the Webstation Android tablet right now from Camagni’s online store, equipped with that 7-inch glass touchscreen, a 624MHz Marvell PXA303 and 256MB of flash storage, for $389 in case you’re one of those “early birds” or $399 if you decide to do a thorough market research before getting now.

Update2: Looks like Camangi’s Android-based Webstation has finally landed on US shores and the guys at Gear Diary have taken it for a series of unboxing shots. Hit the break to see the results (third video).

We knew it was just a matter of time until netbooks would eventually show up with Windows 7 bundled inside, and now that Microsoft’s superb operating system is officially up – looks like Redmond’s moment of truth has finally come. The new Seashell style models the Taiwanese actively plan for a mid-November launch are the 1005HR-WS and 1005HE-WS, which both include a 10.1-inch display, along with an Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, a 0.3MP webcam and a 6-cell battery with up to 8.4 hours of working life. However, while the 1005HR-WS packs a WXGA platform (1366 x 768 resolution) and 250GB hard drive storage, its fellow, the 1005HE-WS, boasts a WSVGA flavor (whatever that means) and either 250GB HDD or 160GB HDD, to pick at your choice. Japan prices mention Â¥49,800 ($545) for the “HR” edition, as “HE” buns will run for Â¥46,800 ($510) or Â¥44,800 ($490), depends on size.

It’s only been three weeks, since our wondering eyes first came across Asus’ 120N Nvidia Ion-based netbook machine, hiding out in a much speculated Eee PC road map slide that popped out in the wild. And here we are, not so long after, talking about it as a certain thing, scheduled for release somewhere this Autumn with a $500 price tag range and a high resolution 12-inch panel (1,366 x 768). And if we’d all be speaking Chinese well, the 250GB hard drive that Asus has stuffed inside, sitting along with 2GB of RAM, Intel Atom N270 processor, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, probably wouldn’t make us surprised – well, maybe this N270 CPU, which seems to be too slow for such an input. Stay tuned, it should be hitting Western shores, packed with a Windows 7 OS, in a month or so.

Update1: Look, the guys from Eee PC Italia just got their hands on Asus 1201N and 1201HA full specs list and shared them online. Basically, both netbook machines will presumably pack a 12-inch 1366 x 768 displays, while the 1201N, which suppose to be the strongest among the two, will include a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N330 dual core processor, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA ION (GeForce 9400M) graphics chipset and 320GB hard drive, as its entry level sibling, the 1201HA suppose to have a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, along with Intel US15W / GMA 500 graphics, 2GB RAM and 250GB hard drive. Update2: Apparently, Asus Eee PC 1201N is scheduled to be released in Europe somewhere towards the end of the year (AKA: December), with this Atom Dual Core 330 CPU, Nvidia ION graphics chipset and a 12.1 1,366 x 768 display  – all compiled with a Windows 7 OS. Prices are yet to be determined.

Update3: Looks like the 1201N is up in Italy earlier than expected, offered on sale for 500 Euros – huzzah!

Update4: Now it’s official, as Asus has finally released its ION-based Eee PC 1201N machine, with all those nifty specs and cool features we’ve managed to see earlier, which include that 12.1-inch 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display, together with a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 processor, either 2 or 3GB of RAM and storage capacity at 250 or 320GB HDD at your choice. Furthermore, you get a six-cell battery and Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded aboard and running on your shelves somewhere around December for only $499. Update5: It seems the Eee PC 1201HA’s debut has finally arrived to the US, as Asus’ second 12.1-inch netbook, which sports a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520, together with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, and 6 hours battery, is up on sale on Best Buy, this time for the lower price of $329.99 but with an XP flavor pre-loaded inside. Seven fanboys should be skipping to the 1201N versionto catch up with Redmond’s latest version.

Update6: And, looks like Amazon has the Asus Eee PC 120N listed for pre-order, starting at $499 which will buy you a 12.1-inch display with Intel’s 1.6GHz N330 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM (up to 8GB), 250GB HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth and last but not least, Microsoft’s Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded into it. For the UK readers out there, this same version, only with an ION-based chipset will show up on your local Amazon somewhere around January 2010, priced at £399 (about $660). Stay tuned.

Assuming these two following roadmap slides, that recently surfaced up on Eeeuser.com, are real, one should expect seeing a lot of intensive activity from Asus direction, in the coming months, as the Taiwanese corp apparently planning to retake over the jammed US netbooks market, by tossing inside some new and advanced mini-laptop devices, hoping to convince all those tech junkie spendthrifts open their empty wallets wide and buy themselves a piece or two. However, with so many cheap and reasonably “specs balanced” alternatives available around, Asus journey, getting to early adopters’ geeky hearts is probably longer and much harder than it may look on the ground. Nevertheless,  according to these latest treasure troves, found in the wild, In Q3 and Q4 of 2009, we’re going to be seeing a brand new 1005HA-P unit, packing a 250GB HDD, paired with Atom N280 processor and offered with optional Windows 7 OS that will set you back for $399, with shipping arrangements, expected to get started somewhere in October. Another “Seashell” like, upgraded version, is the 1005HA-M Atom N270 unit, that runs a Windows 7  Starter Edition flavor and has 250GB HDD storage – all priced at $349. More on that, is the all new 12-inch 1201N Eee PC netbook which will likely include NVIDIA’s latest Ion platform, sitting next to Intel’s Atom N270 processor, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, set and ready to transfer your relays for $499, sharp when it’s up for release in mid-October. Surprisingly, non of us has actually seen a lot of netbooks action from ViewSonic, but clearly it was just a matter of time until the company will take first steps into this crowded market, and it finally did, with recent announcement, indicating a new VNB101 machine that suppose to include Intel’s Atom N280 processor, along with a 10.2-inch 1024×600 display, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, a 3400mAh Lithium-Polymer battery, an optional 3G SIM card hub and either red, black or champagne colors to choose from – All priced around $485 in Taiwan. Update: Viewsonic has also released an entry level netbook, the VNB100, which is an Atom-based device, paired with similar specs like its VNB101 sibling, with optional ExpressCard slot and built-in 3G modem. The idea of having both Android tablet and XP netbook, packed in one small portable device is lighting our imagination for quite some time, and when Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry was recently introducing the Mtube II netbook / tablet hybrid machine at the Computex show, we knew we’re on the right direction with this one. The interesting combination of HP Mini 1000, coming with Windows XP flavor, and an Android tablet platform that can easily pulled out of the main body and serve as an independent touch unit, will probably reach the markets in a year or two, but at the meantime, having the ability to watch this wonder in action right here, right now, directly from our armchair is truly exciting, despite the poor processors that were integrated inside – VIA C7-M for the netbook and unspecified ARM processor with the Android tablet – and the screen, which is connected by VNC, providing a medicore video quality at most. Nonetheless, the technology for itself is pretty fascinating, so if you’d like to see this enlightening video for yourself hit the break and start dreaming.

BenQ is out with a new netbook machine that suppose to give “a lot more for a lot less”, and you have to admit that’s exactly what you’ve been looking for on recession time. But without a given price, the only data you’ll have to settle with at this point is the specs themselves, which are quite impresive, to say the least. And getting into the core details, BenQ’s Joybook Lite U121 Eco is one of those extra sized netbook devices, having an 11.6-inch WXGA (1366×768) display and 100% full sized keyboard on top. Other that that, the Joybook unit will also include up to 500GB of HDD or 32GB SSD, along with Intel’s Atom Z520 / Z530 processors, 1GB of RAM, three USB2.0 sockets, 3-cell battery (with 6-cell optional), Built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g and optional 3.75G HSUPA connectivity. Well…well…well…What do we have in here? Apparently, Asus is finally having its own 11.6-inch netbook edition, also known as the Eee PC 1101HA – Not to be confused with the Mini 1101 version from HP. And while first day of the show is about to start tomorrow, looks like the guys at Engadget China “suspiciously” managed to spot a booth with this fency jewl, which presumably packs a battery that is claimed to deliver up to 11 hours of work, together with Intel’s Atom Z520 / Z530 processors, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, multi-card reader, three USB2.0 sockets and impressive screen resolution, exceeding the usual numbers and standing at 1,366 x 768.  Design wise, the new 1101HA Eee PC netbook clearly fits the Seashell lineup, but we’ll probably be smarter tomorrow morning, so stay tuned for more details to come.

Update1: And as we speak, Asus already released the Eee PC 1101HGO, which is pretty much the same as the 1101HA version, only with a 3G built in. Check out the image after the break.

Think there are enough netbook brands in the market? Maybe you should think twice, as more newcomers are making their way out, featuring the same specs we’re all familiar with. One of those names is Taiwanese company Hannspree that recently announced a 10-inch netbook for the Spanish market, packing 1024 x 600 resolution LCD, Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, Intel GMA950 graphics card, and a 160GB hard drive. In addition, the new HANNSnote netbook will carry WiFi, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera and three USB 2.0 ports – to be available somewhere this year, either in black or white flavors, with a price tag ranged between $400-$530.

Update: Looks like Hannspree’s netbooks are finally available Stateside with the same usual specs we’ve already mentioned above and either black or white hues, that will set you back for $380, which isn;t that cheap nowadays.

We’re all familiar with the Eee PC 1000HA netbook device, which includes an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 1.3MP webcam and some other usual ingridiants inside. But if any of you had any complaints about typing issues, turns out there’s someone in Taiwan who’s listening, as Asus has just improved this model by integrating a chiclet keyboard across the chasis and renamed it from EPC1000HA-BLK001X to EPC1000HA-BLK026X, in case you follow industrial tags. Other than that, it’s more or less the same netbook, selling in the same places (Amazon.com, JR.com) for the same price – Black flavor only.

while eagerly waiting for the NC20 to be released, Via has confirmed that Samsung’s 12.1-inch netbook will be using its latest Nano platform inside. This announcement comes after various rumors which already stated the same news, but this one gives us the official seal that we’ve all been waiting for. According to Via, the new Samsung NC20 will pack a 12.1″ LED WXGA display (1280 x 800), together with a 1.3GHz VIA Nano ULV U2250 processor (800MHz FSB), 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard-drive. Additionally, the NC20 will offer a 1.3 Mega pixels webcam, 10/100 ethernet LAN port, a 3-in-1 memory card reader, WiFi/Bluetooth 2.0+EDR connectivities and a 6-cell battery, providing up to 6.5hrs of continuous work. While first  Eee PC 1000HE netbooks already been shipped to some lucky customers just a week ago, turns out Asus will be offering its latest netbook, covered with some new colors, besides the usual ones. In other words, those who’ve patiently waited for interesting developements to happen, will be able to get their new ultra-portable laptop painted in brushed-silver, blue, pink or onyx instead of the already-exist black and white tinges. Other specs remain the same, including 1.66Ghz Atom N280 CPU, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivities – all priced at $374  – which turns to be a real bargain, considering the 8700mAh 6-cell battery inside, that suppose to provide up to 9.5 working hours, and the new chiclet keyboard that replaces the previous “not so comfortable one.

Update: In a defying move, Asus claims that the Eee PC 1000HE is a much better netbook than Acer’s D150 latest version, in all aspects. according to the Asian corp, while taking a closer look at design and performance, it’s easy to realize that the 1000HE comes with a larger keyboard, features a faster 802.11n WiFi connection and boasts a stronger 8,700mAH battery, compared to the 5,800mAH inside the Aspire One. It’s been a while since we were last hearing from Asus about any new netbook release, but no worries the Taiwanese are here, live and kicking with the Eee PC 1000HE, which is part of the 1000H lineup, only capable of providing up to 9.5 working hours (!), thanks to the high-density battery and Super Hybrid Engine technology that the company has developed. Surprisingly, the official announcement first popped up on ASUS Eee PC Facebook group, suggesting a 10-inch LED backlit display, together with a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, 160GB hard-drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection and Bluetooth 2.0. Price wise, the new 1000HE model will set you back for $399 in pre-order, but FB group members get an additional $25 discount, which makes the entire deal very affordable. When AsusTek first introduced the slim S101 netbook, we were very impressed from the lavish design but not from the expensive price tag. Now the Taiwanese rolls out the S121 version, which keeps the thin high-end shape but adds more size to the screen, as the new model boasts a 12.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, together with a presumed Intel Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0 and 1.3MP camera. The rest of the specs are practically vague, but we do hope for an integrated 3G conection and hybrid SSD/HDD storage combined inside. Price wise, it’s not going to be cheap if you were looking for a bargain.

Update1: Turns out the new Asus S121 comes with an Intel Atom Z520 CPU a giant 512GB SSD drive, which turns it into the world’s first netbook with 512GB capacity. Still no word on price or availability.

Update2: Apparently, the S121 with the 512GB SSD flavor will be yours for a staggering price of $1,649, while the 120GB HDD version will set you back for “just” $899.

Asus wants to target the ultra portable high-end laptops market, unofficialy introduces the new EEE PC S101, coming up with a 10.2-inch 16:9 LED backlit display, Intel Atom-based 1.6GHz N270 processor with 945GME chipset and a coffee brown and white flavors. The S101, which suppose to get mass production around September, weights less than 1KG and features only 2.2cm thick measures. Apparently, it will offer 32GB SSD ($699) or 64GB SSD ($899) storage capacities, together with a shiny casing surface, carrying the Eee logo. Stay tuned for more to come.
