I wasn’t expecting to see this kind of shape, but the new CJ7 Dog Doll MP3 Player has knocked me down with its unique and bizarre greenish plastic look, apparently designed for kids or those who stayed infants in a growing body. Equipped with a furry head and a frightened gaze, the new doggy player boasts 1GB internal flash memory, a built-in speaker, headphone jack and a USB port, placed at the dog’s buttocks. iRiver has announced the release of its new Domino USB flash drive series, coming up in 6 flavors, including white, silver, chocolate, black, pink or coral pink. The new flash drives offer 2GB or 4GB storage capacities with Sandisk-alike sliding USB connector and Windows Vista compatibility. Release date isn’t clear but those 2 gram flash drives will cost you $21 or $34 respectively.

R2-D2 and Darth Vader are well known Sci-Fi Star Wars characters and from now on they officially been transformed into USB hub figures, thanks to Japanese company Cube-Works, who’ve managed to shift them from spaceship robots into your desktop companion, equipped with 4 full-speed USB ports on their front, for easy connection to your PC. In addition, you will be glad to hear that R2-D2’s head moves and lights up every 3 minutes, as Vader’s eyeballs glow with the appropriated sound effects. This new LEGO USB drive from Australian Zip Zip presents a clean refreshing look and brings a nice juvenile touch to the existing dull flash drives assortment, and although this are not real LEGO bricks they still look very similar. The LEGO drive comes with a wrist strap to hook to your keychain and different size capacities, ranged from 1GB ($49 USD) to 4GB ($85 USD). You can choose one out of 5 colors, including red, yellow blue, green or black, so if you’re a real LEGO fan you can start building your own castle with your USB drive.

This new gadget from Asus integrates between a USB flash drive and a mouse, yes a MOUSE. Though i’m doubtful it will fit ergonomically the palm of your hand, the Asus MS71 features a wireless mouse with left & right buttons and a scroll wheel in between. In addition, it serves as a flash drive to store uncertain amount of files to carry on the go. No word on price or availability but if you’re really running out of place in your lappy bag, consider having one.

TDK unveils its new colorful disk on key lineup, after years of magnetic media manufacturing, like cassettes, CDs and DVDs. The skinny USB sticks will be available in 1GB, 2GB or 4GB storage and will support Vista ReadyBoost function. The USB keys are expected to be released in Japan at the end of this month. If you have visited Dell’s website recently, trying to build your next dreamlike laptop, you could have seen some new extended components added to the XPS M1330 “Build Your Computer” section. One of these add-ons is the Build-in Wireless USB capability with Belkin 4 port hub, offered for extra 150$. Sounds exciting to me.

Sony to release a new USMGLX USB memory stick series with 31MB/sec high-speed reading capabilities. The new lineup includes 5 sticks, ranged from 1GB, 2GB, 4Gb, 8GB to 16GB. The series supports both Mac/PC and is a Windows Vista Ready-Boost technology compatible. Available in Japan from March for $210 (16GB model).

For those who always wanted to utilize their PC keyboard gaming abilities on their game consoles, XFPS created a special designated adapter that enables users to hook any keyboard or mouse, directly to their Sony PS, and start kicking those creepy zombies. Once you have the adapter, just plug it into one of the USB slots in your console, and hook your keyboard/mouse to the other side, using USB or PS/2 connections. This will give you full control, using your favorite keys, for only 99$.

Pinnacle is about to unveil a new video transfer box, at CES 2008. This unit can transfer any analog video source directly to a USB 2.0 storage device, such as USB flash drives, iPods, PSP consoles or external hard drives with USB connectors. The box has a built in audio input, s-video/composite outs, and the transfer is recorded with H.264 video format. The device should go live somewhere around the middle of January, for 130$.

M++Card, is a business card concept with a USB extension…I guess no one will throw your card away anymore, and it will get the most attention from all the cards in the pile. Also, it could come with some uploaded marketing brochures and information about your company.
